Recital
January 26, 2008.
By Catherine "Miss Cathy"
Our long awaited recital finally arrived. The recital opened with Classy Keys Trio and Miss Maria. This is the group that will be going to England.
Our first solo performer was Peyton who started on the piano and then switched to the keyboard. On the keyboard he played with an entire rhythm section accompanying him. This is very impressive, since it is hard to stay with a rhythm section like that.
Our next performer was Rachel. It was her first time in one of our recitals. She is a beautiful girl with a beautiful voice.
Tori performed on the piano. She chose to play the song that I had written for her. Tori is quiet and doesn't tell about her accompishments, so I will tell you about one of them. She is now a professional singer.
Cory's performance skills and comfort in front of an audience show. He performed on the piano. Thank you also to Cory for taking over the video camera when Mr. Ben performed.
I sang one of the song I will be performing in England. It's a fun, silly song. I made lots of funny faces while singing it.
Next came Renusha playing the guitar. She played complicated chord structures while still playing the melody. I don't know many people that can do that.
One of my favorite piano pieces which I will be performing in England, I played for everyone at the recital.
Mr. Ben volunteered to help out with the trip to England, and so he found himself learning to play a Bodhran. This was his first recital. You would never have known it was his first time playing the drum in front of an audience.
Jenny, who is also going to England sang two of the songs in her repertoire for England. She has a beautiful voice. Although she can sing any style of music, her voice is very suited for classical music.
Our last solo performer was Renusha on the piano. She played the hardest songs of anyone in the recital.
The recital ended with the Classy Keys Trio and Miss Maria playing another song. Performance awards were given out and then we had refreshments.
Thank you to those who came to the recital. Parents, thank you for sharing your children with me. They are wonderful!
